Congrats to all the Texas decathletes who competed at USAD National this week. We are so proud of every student and coach! They represented Texas well!

The entire Texas Academic Decathlon family mourns the loss of Leyton Cade Hernandez, a teacher at Veterans Memorial High School in Corpus Christi and the son of Dr. Roland and Dr. Cyndi Hernandez. We are thinking of his family, friends, colleagues, and students.

Congrats to the winners at each Texas state competition and to the five teams headed to Nationals in California! Individuals who qualified for nationals and the online national teams will be announced later. We will have an amazing delegation representing our state in Los Angeles!

Good luck to all the teams competing in San Antonio, Frisco, and Corpus Christi! We can't wait to see the results of all your hard work Sunday morning.

Odessa High School qualifies for the State Academic Decathlon competition An Academic Decathlon is made up of 10 events covering 7 subjects: Science, Literature, Art, Music, Social Science, Economics, and Math.

TX Academic Decathlon celebrates Black History Month and encourages you to dig more into the African American figures of the Roaring Twenties. There are many in the guides, but there are even more figures deserving of your attention who had a profound influence on this country.

These state logos, created by Katrina Monyancha, will be featured on the state t-shirts your teams order. We thank Ms. Monyancha for her wonderful submission.

We will announce the teams headed to state on Sunday, January 25 at 5pm! You can access the announcement video via the Texas Academic Decathlon YouTube Channel.
