Fun fact: did you know playing with mud has sooo many benefits for children’s physical and mental health?

Involving children in meal preparation ( in an appropriate way according to their age groups) helps avoid picky eating and gives them a sense of accomplishment and autonomy over their day.
It also support fine motor skills, sensory skills, culinary skills and team work.

We can’t control children, but we can control their environment.
In fact that’s a big responsibility for the adults.
What does that mean, control their environment?
1.how many toys are available at one given time and for what purpose?
Less toys means better ability to focus and engage in play, depending on age group.
2.where do they go and when?
Labeling cubbies with where should things go with both pictures and words not only support literacy but gives the child a clear guidelines and expectation.
3.when do we clean up?
Usually before a transition( leaving the room, starting a different activity example: lunch) use a song so child knows it’s time to clean up.
4.how you arrange the furniture
Ideally against walls and secured to the walls
Opens the floor space for play and prevents the child from tilting the furniture onto themselves.

If you feel overwhelmed when the house has too much going on, so does your child but they lack the tools to understand the feeling of overwhelm so they will tantrum more and struggle.
Control the environment and that will give your little one a tone of tools❤️
