It is so important for students to not only learn with a great teacher but also a great instrument!
*Having a quality piano is vital to students learning, developing, and progressing through various skills. If buying a piano right now is not something you are ready to fully invest in consider renting a piano. Band and Orchestra students do this all the time with their violins and flutes, why shouldn't we do the same with a piano?
*Many local piano stores offer rental programs! I know for a fact Steinway Piano Gallery - San Antonio offers a rental program which begins as low as $25 a month! It is totally do able for you to offer your child a quality piano to go with your piano lesson investment. Piano is worth it! 🎹

2019 Steinway Junior Piano Competition
1 Flat Note Feature Student
Student: Andrew
Performing:
Chopin - Nocturne in C Sharp Minor No. 20
Mozart - Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, K. 525
Andrew exhibits interest in continuing education in piano. Each week he is excited and ready to learn more. Andrew does much independent study, often coming back to each weekly lesson with more music he has found and begun independently learning. Andrew's technical achievements lay within his skill for listening and development of pace and rhythm. Andrew continues to work on his musical phrasing and work on developing dynamics and musical expression. He prefers the works of classical greats including Chopin, Bach, and Mozart. Andrew is a hard working and talented student who applies himself to piano and will one day be a great asset to the industry.
This Sunday, three [1 Flat Note] students will participate in the Steinway Junior Piano Competition. Each student was required to choose two pieces in varying musical categories. The pieces must be performed from memory. Each student is then scored by a panel of judges. Over the past few months these students have put in extra time, effort, and dedication to their piano studies. They are willing to put their best foot forward, challenge themselves, and open themselves up for critique and development.
Best of Luck, Andrew! 🤩

He has a great support system and spends time practicing every day, because of this Ethan has made strides in leaps and bounds. Ethan's technical accomplishments lay in his sight reading and memorization skills. Ethan continues to work on his musical phrasing as we make strides towards tempo and dynamics. Ethan loves popular music but is beginning to also appreciate some of the more classical flavors as they are introduced to him. He is a fun, smart, and dedicated student with whom lessons are never dull. I look forward to seeing Ethan's musical talents blossom and grow!
