🏈🐼 FLAG FOOTBALL HAS ARRIVED AT PROMESA!

Our Pandas hit the turf for Flag Football Tryouts, and they came ready to WORK!

From quick feet and fast routes to catches, throws, and plenty of hustle, we loved seeing our athletes give it their all and show us what they’ve got!

A HUGE thank you to every student who came out to try something new, compete, and represent Promesa! And of course, thank you to our families for showing up, cheering them on, and supporting our athletics program.

Fall sports are officially HERE, and we cannot wait to see our Pandas take the field this season!

The gym was full of energy, effort, and Panda pride as our athletes hit the court for volleyball tryouts!

We loved seeing our students step up, try something new, encourage one another, and give it their ALL! From serves and passes to teamwork and hustle, our Pandas showed us what it means to be !

A HUGE thank you to all of our families who came out to support and cheer on our athletes! We love seeing our Promesa community show up for our students.

Good afternoon, Promesa family. We hope everyone is staying safe. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of our families still dealing with power outages and storm cleanup.

I was on site with our facilities team today making sure campus is clean, safe, and ready for our students. Power is fully operational, and school is running on a normal schedule tomorrow, Monday, August 31.

Gates Open: 7:15 AM
Classes Start: 7:45 AM

If you can travel safely, we encourage you to send your child to school. We want our building to serve as a cool, safe refuge where students can enjoy full air conditioning, recharge devices, and receive hot, nutritious meals.

Free Dress (Tomorrow Only) We know doing laundry is tough or impossible without electricity. Uniforms are not required tomorrow, but clothing must be school-appropriate.

San Antonio Families,

As power outages continue across many parts of our city following last night’s severe storms, community resources are available to help families stay safe and cool during the summer heat.

VIA is partnering with the City of San Antonio to provide ZERO-FARE rides to open cooling centers.

Simply let your bus operator know that you are traveling to a cooling center when you board. No fare is required.

Cooling centers provide a safe, air-conditioned place to cool down and charge essential devices while power restoration efforts continue.

UPDATE❗Following last night’s severe storms and resulting power outages, VIA is partnering with the City of San Antonio to provide zero-fare rides for people traveling to or from active places to stay cool or resiliency centers using bus service; VIA Link (within the Link service zones); or VIAtrans service.

🗣️Please alert the operator when boarding the bus or a VIA Link van that you are heading to a cooling center and let your reservation agent know when booking a VIAtrans trip.

The only animals allowed to accompany a customer is a service animal.

VIA is one of several transportation providers supporting local emergency operations. Emergency trips cannot be arranged directly with VIA. Please call 311. VIAtrans paratransit customers needing same-day service to or from cooling centers should call 311 to book a ride.

This week, our Time Travelers journeyed back to the Prehistoric Age, where students spent the week building and decorating their very own volcanoes before showcasing their creations during Eruption Day with families by their side!

Today was the kind of day that reminds us exactly who Promesa is. 💙🐼

Our entire campus stepped back in time at Mission San José, but the true stars of the day were our incredible Junior Historians. Led by the amazing Mrs. Cortez, these students made the ultimate selfless leadership move—giving up their own grant funding so that EVERY Panda could experience this unforgettable full-campus field trip.

And if that wasn’t inspiring enough? Those same students didn’t just attend...they LED. They stepped into the role of tour guides, sharing history, teaching their peers, and showing what authentic student leadership looks like in action.

This week wasn’t just a soccer game—it was a full campus celebration. Students took on their parents in the ultimate Homecoming showdown while the sidelines were packed with cheering families, face paint, school spirit, laughter, and unforgettable memories. This is what school should feel like.
