Congrats to Sherry Mireles, Principal at Rawlinson MS, on receiving this year’s NISD Distinguished Library Service Award! As a true champion for literacy, Principal Mireles views the library as the "heart of the school"—and she ensures it beats strong every single day. Collaborating closely with her campus librarian, she has transformed their 20-year-old library into a modern, tech-rich hub while keeping it fully open and accessible to students throughout the day. From launching staff book clubs to fostering student innovations like podcasting and AI learning, Mireles continuously champions the library as a vital space for learning and inspiration. 🏆🏅
