Another glimpse of Ms.Anna's Class during snack and work period.

In a Montessori primary classroom (ages 3 to 6), snack time is not a fixed, whole-class scheduled event, but rather an ongoing, self-serve station available throughout the morning and afternoon work periods.

How Snack Time WorksFlexible Timing: Children choose when to eat based on their own hunger cues rather than a synchronized classroom break.

Limited Seating: A small designated snack table (usually seating only 2 to 4 children) naturally limits how many can eat at once, teaching patience and awareness of peers.

Independent Preparation: Children wash their hands, select a tray, use child-sized utensils or tongs to portion exact serving sizes (guided by visual number cards), and carry food carefully to the table.

Clean-Up Routine: After eating, children independently wash their dishes, wipe the table, and return the tray or place setting.

The Monday work period in our Pre-Primary, Primary, and Lower Elementary classrooms is a fundamental part of our curriculum. During this uninterrupted time, children are allowed to choose their own works to practice skills that build confidence, concentration, a sense of order, and fine motor skills.

In our Pre-Primary and Primary classrooms, the environment relies heavily on the Practical Life and Sensorial areas to prepare children for advanced academic work. Pre-Primary students focus closely on identifying letters, sounds, and number associations using concrete manipulatives. Primary students expand into detailed Language, Math, and Cultural studies, working at their own pace with direct lessons from their guides.

The lesson plans for the week are posted both inside and outside of each classroom for your review.
