Southside High School

No backpacks will be allowed next week.

Tomorrow, Monday May 11th, there will be physicians from Christus Santa Rosa performing sports physicals at the high school athletics building. Physicals will start in 8th period and run until the last child is done, usually around 5:30pm. Your child should have received a physical form, and they are available on the district website as well.

Physicals are $20 cash and must be brought in with a completed medical history and student / parent signatures. Student athletes at the high school and middle schools are required to have a completed sports physical prior to participation, this includes cheer and dance as well as band. Physicals are valid for 365 days. Your student does not need to attend these physicals, they may get their physical with their normal doctor if you prefer. The physicals at the high school are only offered as an option for those that find it more convenient.

If you intend for your child to attend the annual physicals at the high school, please make sure they have their $20 as well as the completed medical history. They can come to the athletic training room in the high school athletics building in the morning starting at 7:30am to be pre screened for blood pressure and height and weight to help the physicals move more efficiently in the afternoon. If they don’t get pre screened in the morning, they can still come to the physicals in the afternoon and we will screen them there.

Matthey students attending the physicals will be transported on the bus to the high school and will need to be picked up at the high school.
