NISD proudly announces Celena Sweeney, 3rd grade educator at Beard Elementary, as the winner of the 2026 Trinity Prize for Excellence in Teaching. Congratulations Mrs. Sweeney!

Good luck to the NISD Marching Bands participating in the 90th Annual Battle of Flowers Band Festival tonight. First held in 1936, it is the oldest and longest-running marching Band Festival in the country. Top-placing bands and fan favorites are awarded with "Celebration of Music" grants to support and encourage the arts in our local high schools.

NISD OConnor librarian, Ms. Stoeck and all NISD HS librarians, won the NEF Team Grant to purchase pop-up exhibits of seminal historical documents in American history from The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. These exhibits will be used with classes and programming throughout our district! Northside Education Foundation

🎉 Big shoutout to Tara Stone for receiving a NEF grant! 🌟 Her groundbreaking project introduces anatomically accurate joint dislocation reduction training models that are set to revolutionize how sports medicine is taught! 🏥💪

Say goodbye to traditional lecture-based learning and hello to an interactive, hands-on experience! These models not only allow students to safely explore joint mechanics but also help them visualize anatomical relationships and grasp reduction principles through tactile, repeatable practice. 🦴✨

This is a game-changer for every sports medicine classroom across the district—bridging the gap between book knowledge and real-world application!
