It’s been a fast and furious, amazing start to the 2026-27 school year at EC Art! From observational drawing, neurographic art, cut paper sculptures to suminagashi prints, ECHS artists are busy developing basic skills, experimenting with new media and techniques, and building new friendships. Our first Art Club meetings are standing room only. Our studio doors are officially open!

Join us this Thursday for the event of the year—the ECISD Fine Arts Showcase. Come checkout amazing performances by ECHS band, choir, dance and piano students, view exhibits by visual arts and theater students and connect with community family mental health resources.

We are excited to share some outstanding news from this past Saturday’s Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE), hosted by the Texas Art Education Association in San Marcos, Texas.

All four of the ECHS artists who advanced to the State event earned the prestigious State Superior medal. State medallists include sophomore Jozlin Acebedo and seniors Rae Murphy, Mahogany Summers, and Jenna Vargas. This recognition reflects not only their artistic skill and creativity, but also their dedication and hard work throughout the year.
