🎓 A proud South San alumna from graduating class of 1987, Ileana Lopez’s journey began at Price Elementary, continued through Dwight Middle School, and led her to South San Antonio High School, where she was actively involved in extracurricular activities, including Powder Puff Football all four years, Student Council, and VOE (Vocational Office Education).

After graduating, Lopez continued her education at Palo Alto College, where she earned her associate degree, before attending Texas A&M University-San Antonio and earning her degree in Teaching through the Interdisciplinary Studies program.

Today, Lopez proudly serves the district that helped shape her as a 4th grade teacher at Carrillo Elementary School, inspiring and supporting the next generation of Bobcats.

Reflecting on her time as a student, Lopez shares that one of her favorite memories was when the freshman class defeated the senior class in the Powder Puff Football game! 🏈👏

From participating in school activities to making unforgettable memories with her classmates, Lopez’s South San experience helped shape the educator she is today. Her journey from student to teacher is a true example of the Bobcat legacy continuing right here in our district. 💙🐾

🎓 Orgullosamente egresada de South San, la historia de Ileana Lopez comenzó en la Primaria Price, continuó en la Secundaria Dwight y la llevó hasta South San Antonio High School, donde participó activamente en diversas actividades extracurriculares, incluyendo Powder Puff Football durante los cuatro años, el Consejo Estudiantil y VOE (Educación de Oficina Vocacional).

Después de graduarse, Lopez continuó sus estudios en Palo Alto College, donde obtuvo un título de asociado. Posteriormente, asistió a Texas A&M University-San Antonio, donde obtuvo su título en Educación a través del programa de Estudios Interdisciplinarios.

Hoy, Lopez se enorgullece de servir al distrito que contribuyó a su formación como maestra de 4.º grado en Carrillo Elementary School, inspirando y apoyando a la próxima generación de Bobcats.

Al recordar su etapa como estudiante, Lopez comparte que uno de sus recuerdos favoritos fue cuando ¡la clase de primer año derrotó a la clase de último año en el partido de Powder Puff Football! 🏈👏

Desde participar en actividades escolares hasta crear recuerdos inolvidables con sus compañeros, la experiencia de Lopez en South San ayudó a formar a la educadora que es hoy. Su trayectoria de estudiante a maestra es un verdadero ejemplo de cómo el legado Bobcat continúa creciendo dentro de nuestro distrito. 💙🐾
