⭐️ Next in our Bobcat Alumni Legacy series... 💙🐾

🎓 A proud South San alumna, Yvette Cruz’s journey began at Neil Armstrong Elementary School, continued through Alan B. Shepard Middle School, and led her to South San Antonio High School, where she was involved in Spanish Club, TAFE, and National Honor Society.

After graduating in 2017, Cruz continued her education at Palo Alto College, earning an associate degree, before earning her bachelor’s degree in Education from Texas A&M University-San Antonio. Today, she proudly serves the district that helped shape her as an Inclusion Aide at Five Palms Elementary School, supporting students and helping them succeed in the classroom.

Reflecting on her time as a student, Cruz shares that some of her favorite memories at South San were going to football games, especially Homecoming! 🏈

From cheering on the Bobcats in the stands to being involved in student organizations, Cruz’s South San experience was filled with school spirit and memorable moments. Today, she continues that Bobcat legacy by supporting the next generation of students right here in the district she once called home. 👏

🏠 Are you 65 or older and receiving a homestead exemption?

Recent legislation increased the total school tax exemption for eligible homeowners age 65 and older to $200,000, combining the $140,000 general exemption with the $60,000 Over-65/Disabled exemption.

For homeowners with an assessed home value of $200,000 or less, that means zero school district taxes if they have filed for and received the exemption.

The existing school district tax freeze also remains in place.

Check your exemption status with the Bexar County Appraisal District or call (210) 242-2432.

We were proud to welcome the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NIET) to Zamora Middle School! 💙

NIET observed learning in action through classroom visits, and held a student focus group to hear directly from our students about strengthening campus culture and the learning environment. We’re excited to showcase the improvements we’ve made and continue growing together! 📚✨

From Growth to Greatness at SSAISD👏🌱

¡Nos llena de orgullo haber recibido al National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NIET) en Zamora Middle School! 💙
