Here is the information about Tom Leonard's services. Monday, June 15th at Ft Sam National cemetery, Shelter #2 at 9:15. A celebration of life will follow at 11:30 at the top of the towers bldg on the Army Residence community, 7400 Crestway. Please feel free to share.

After years of heart, laughter, and unforgettable moments, two truly special women are turning the page to a brand-new chapter—Shannon LaFavers and Laura Morrison are retiring.

Laura Morrison has been the heart of 4th grade for years—never wavering, never switching, just consistently shaping young minds with patience and passion. And Shannon LaFavers, the smiling face at the front desk, has been the unofficial mayor of Encino Park Elementary—greeting everyone by name and making each person feel like they belonged the moment they walked in.

Things simply won’t be the same without them. Their presence, their kindness, and their spirit are woven into the very fabric of the school. But as bittersweet as this goodbye is, there’s a joyful welcome waiting—the Retirees Club is ready to accept them with open arms (and probably a few good naps and brunch dates too!

The school will miss them dearly, but we are so excited for the adventures ahead. Cheers to Shannon and Laura—thank you for everything.

SENIOR BREAKFAST COVERAGE MAY 21st Senior breakfast is such a special event at EP! We rely on DPS cleared volunteers to help provide coverage for teachers to attend. You will be covering a class with a pre-planned activity. Please be sure to arrive on time! Date: May 21st, 2026 Time: 7:15am-8:30am MUST BE DPS CLEARED

Kindergarten needs a few extra hands!

While the teachers test the other students will rotate through Makerspace stations in the cafeteria (think Legos, Magna-Tiles, art, and more), and we’re looking for volunteers to help keep things running smoothly.

If you have a little time and enjoy being around creative, curious kids, we’d love to have you.
