OPERA San Antonio is proud to partner with Opera Guild of San Antonio in the continuation of the OSA Summer Apprentice Artist Program to provide education and performance opportunities for local young artists. Selected artists receive weekly coachings with industry professionals and will be featured in a series of masterclasses, community concerts, and events between May 26 - July 1, 2022.

🚨 FIVE DAYS until our Priority Deadline!

1. Applications for our vocal programs are live via YAP Tracker. Submit by December 15 to be a part of the first round of casting and receive priority consideration for scholarships and professional fellowships. 💫

2. This season, we are producing fully-staged productions of As One, Orpheus in the Underworld, and Hair. All productions are accompanied by a professional orchestra.

We're holding open auditions for Woodlawn Theatre's production of Hairspray next Monday and Tuesday, December 6th and 7th.

Dance auditions will start at 7pm sharp each night; please wear clothing and shoes that are appropriate for movement. Performers need to prepare one song in the style of the show, 32 bars or a verse and chorus. Please bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. No tracked music or a ca****la singing will be allowed. Please bring a headshot and resume if you have one. Individuals of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds are encouraged to audition. Auditions are only for performers 16 and up, performers 18 and up will receive a small stipend for being in the show.

For the role of Little Inez we are looking for a black female age 10-15. If you are auditioning for this role please email an audition video to [email protected] by December 5th. The video must include you singing a song in the style of the show, you must have music tracked or played live for you, no a ca****la singing.

Performers ages 16 - 17 years old who are interested in auditioning must be a parent/guardian to the audition to sign a waiver form.

Hairspray is our first musical production of 2022 and we are seeking to fill several roles for this Tony Award winning production. Summer 2022 seems like a long way off, but we have exciting news from Abilene Christian University we want to share. Beginning this summer, ACU will be offering an All-State Choir Camp for large school students!

We are thrilled to be providing high school students an affordable option as they prepare for the TMEA All-State process. Our goal is to give them tools and experiences that will help them succeed not only in their TMEA auditions but to challenge them to grow as leaders and servants in their own choral programs.
