You’re invited to see how CAST Med High School is giving students a head start in the medical field — all before they graduate high school.

CAST Med High School, a public high school located in South San Antonio, prepares students for real-world medical careers through hands-on learning, industry certifications, and college credit. Our students:

✔ Earn certifications such as Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician, and Biotechnician Assistant
✔ Start college early with Texas A&M–San Antonio credit hours
✔ Gain real-world experience through job shadowing, internships, and mentorships with medical professionals
✔ Learn in a dual-language environment, preparing students for a diverse workforce

🗓️💸 SAISD Class of 2026, mark your calendars! ️Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) before Jan. 15, 2026, for priority consideration.

FAFSA will help determine your eligibility for federal and state financial aid – like grants (free money), scholarships and affordable loans. (Private and two-year institutions may have different deadlines.)

To get started, you’ll need student and parent/guardian StudentAid.Gov accounts (FSA ID). (Plus, have your personal information and income/asset information – like 2024 Federal Income Taxes – on hand.)

Your College Bound Advisor or counselor can walk you (and your family) through the process. Stop by your school’s college hub or start your application at https://studentaid.gov/

FAFSA ayuda a determinar su elegibilidad para la ayuda financiera federal y estatal, como subvenciones (dinero gratis), becas y préstamos asequibles. (Las instituciones privadas y las de dos años pueden tener plazos diferentes.)

Aneesa Moreno, a senior at CAST Med , received the good news last week that she will have a full scholarship to Colorado College through the QuestBridge College Match program. The Match Scholarship is offered as part of a generous financial aid package provided by the college that covers the full cost of attendance, including tuition, room and board, books and supplies, and travel expenses once students enroll. Moreno plans to study molecular biology in order to help others as a pathologist. 🎉 Congratulations!

Aneesa Moreno, estudiante de último año de CAST Med High School, recibió la buena noticia la semana pasada de que obtendrá una beca completa para Colorado College a través del programa Questbridge College Match. La beca Match se ofrece como parte de un generoso paquete de ayuda financiera proporcionado por la universidad que cubre el costo total de la asistencia, incluyendo matrícula, alojamiento y comida, libros y materiales, y gastos de transporte una vez que los estudiantes se matriculan. Moreno planea estudiar biología molecular para ayudar a otros como patóloga. 🎉 ¡ Felicidades!
