AI is helping shape the future of trauma and stroke care.

Klesse College biomedical engineer Amina Qutub is leading BEACON, an AI-powered project focused on helping clinicians make faster, more informed decisions for trauma and stroke patients.

The 18-month, $500,000 pilot project brings together engineers, AI researchers and clinicians to explore how technology can improve care from the emergency room through recovery.

Officials at NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration recently told Shrihari Sankarasubramanian, PhD he was cleared for takeoff, just not for space. Sankarasubramanian will be flying on an airplane following a flight profile designed to simulate Martian gravity to test the electrolyzer he has been developing with partners at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI).

Why it is a great time to be an engineer in Texas.

Op-ed from Klesse College Dean, Eric Brey

"Stop for a minute. Look around. We take for granted the systems that allow us to live, work and thrive in Texas: the roads we drive on, the power required to keep the air on during a Texas summer, the planes that take us to new places and the technology in our hands..."

They did it! Today, this magnificent group of FRESHMEN won FIRST PLACE in the Siemens 2026 Immersive Design Challenge. They presented to the global team of judges and answered questions as if they had been doing this for years. They were polished, ready and professional in their delivery.

This team has 5 engineers, a business major and a computer science major. They took an idea and they made it happen. THAT is how you do it.

To say we are proud is an understatement.

GO 210 Robotics, GO! We hope you heard our cheers.
