ACH Co-op Guidelines
*Parent's are required to remain on the church ground during the hours their children are participating. Failure to remain on the church grounds could result in the family being asked to leave the co-op.
*Parent's are required to teach or assist in 1 class for every 2 classes their child attends. If your child will be attending all 5 classes, you will be required to be a vo
lunteer in a classroom for 3 of the 5 classes. Parent's can request areas to help/volunteer and every effort will be made to place them in those locations, but our primary concern is making sure helpers are placed where needed.
*Children who are signing up for kindergarten classes must be 5 by September 1st (of the new school year). If a child is not 5, he or she will participate in the preschool (ages 2-3) or pre-kindergarten (age 4) class. We ask that parent's with small children, utilize the nursery or preschool classes during the time they are teaching or helping in other classes. Exceptions may be made for newborns.
*Maximum class sizes will be enforced and a waiting list started for classes that are full.
*The registration fee ($30 per family) and administrative fee ($1 per class each child is registered for) are due at registration as well as any class fees (see class descriptions) and the first month's tuition (if applicable). Monthly tuition (when applicable) is due on the first Tuesday of each month following the first month. For example, tuition for September's class will be paid at registration, October's tuition will be due on October 1, and November’s tuition will be due on November 12. Students may not participate in class until tuition is paid each month.
*If a child is being disruptive in a class (talking, running, distracting other students, etc.) they will receive a verbal warning from the teacher or helper. If the child continues to be disruptive, the mom will be notified and asked to step in. If a child continues to be disruptive he or she may be removed from the class. If a mom does not or will not take care of the issue, one of the directors of co-op should be notified.
*It is very important for students to come to their co-op classes prepared. All students should have basic supplies (pencil, glue, scissors, markers or crayons) with them for each class as well as any specific supplies required for the class. If a student comes to co-op without necessary supplies, they will receive a warning and the parent will be notified the first time. The second time a child comes to class without supplies, they will be taken to their parent and will have to sit out of that class for the hour. Failure to come to co-op without supplies could result in the child being put in study hall for that hour.
*Teachers spend a great amount of time working to ensure they have a good class. Some classes will require outside work by the student. When a teacher assigns a student homework, the parent must work with their student to get that homework completed and returned the next week. The first time a student comes to class without their homework, they will receive a warning and their parent will be notified. The second time, the student will be taken to their parent and must sit out of the class for that day. Failure to complete assigned homework could result in the student being removed from the class and put in study hall during that hour. If a parent feels that a particular assignment is not appropriate, they must talk to the teacher prior to the class where the assignment is due.
