NEISD is closely monitoring weather forecasts and local conditions. Due to the potential for flooding and possible unexpected road closures, our school bus drivers will exercise extra caution to ensure student safety. This may result in delays or adjusted routes.

The safety and well-being of our community remain our highest priority. We appreciate your patience and encourage everyone to use caution when traveling in affected areas. Please check our NEISD website at neisd.net and follow our social media channels regularly for real-time announcements and updates.

Oak Meadow Families,

It appears we may be in for a very wet dismissal for the next couple of days. Please be patient with our staff as we ensure that your students are getting home as safely as possible. We are making a few adjustments in case we are needing to shift to an alternate plan if it is raining outside during dismissal time at 3:20pm.

Alternate Plan A - If there is a light drizzle, we will be utilizing all of our 11 cones.

Alternate Plan B - For the light rain, we will place cones 1-5 under the breezeway for students to report to, and a staff member with an umbrella will walk them to their cars.

Alternate Plan C - In the event of heavy rain, we will be loading students from cones 6 - 10 only (under the breezeway). This will allow for us to load five cars at a time.

For students who are walking home, or riding their bike, and you would like to switch them to a car rider (permitting you have a car tag), you have until 2:00 to notify the front office and classroom teacher of that transportation change. However, if you do not have a car tag, and would like to pick up your student from the walker line, you can come AFTER 3:45 to the front office to check them out from the walker line. You will also need to communicate this with your student's classroom teacher by 2:00 so that they know they are not to walk home in the heavy rain.

Please feel free to call if you have any questions. Have a good evening!

What an incredible week at Oak Meadow! We had a fantastic time celebrating our beloved grandparents. The turnout was amazing, and it warmed our hearts to see so many families coming together.
Our special lunchtime was filled with laughter, stories, food, and a photo op, making it a memorable gathering for everyone. Thank you to all the grandparents who joined us and shared their wisdom and love. Here’s to the wonderful bonds of family, Mavericks!!!!
