🏆 We got a Head Start!

Last night, our PTA President Samantha Lighty, Board Member Reema Kumar, and Vice Principal Mr. V represented Leon Springs Elementary at the Northside Council of PTAs Delegate Meeting—and came home with a little surprise: the 2026–2027 Head Start Award!

This award recognizes PTAs that reach 85% of the previous year’s total membership early in the new school year.

And really, this recognition belongs to YOU.

It means our parents are showing up. Our teachers and staff are showing up. Our community wants to be involved—and you’re giving us quite the head start. ❤️

We’re showing up, too—learning, participating, and doing the work to make our PTA the best it can be for our school and our kids.

PTA GRANTS AT WORK 🎧📚

Ever wonder where your PTA membership and fundraising dollars go? Right back to our school.

This year, over $2,000 has been allocated for PTA Teacher Grants, giving our teachers and staff the opportunity to request tools and resources that directly benefit our students.

Just like these headphones! 🎧 Last year, Mr. V was awarded a PTA grant, which he used to purchase headphones that are now available for students whenever they need them.

We still can’t get over last night at LSE! 🦖🦕

Dinosaurs from across the Jurassic—and beyond—took over our school as we kicked off a new era of PTA!

Families got up close with incredible fossils and prehistoric creatures!

A huge thank-you to our VP of Programs, Jessica Littrell, for bringing this unforgettable experience to our Longhorn families.

THIS is what PTA is all about—creating experiences and memories for our kids. 🤘

Today, our fifth grade Longhorns celebrated a very special milestone during their commencement ceremony.

Awards were presented by our principal, Ms. Espinoza, alongside staff members including our vice principal, Mr. Villalobos.

Students were recognized for their hard work and achievements with A Honor Roll, B Honor Roll, Presidential Awards, and other special recognitions.

It was a morning filled with pride, gratitude, happy tears, and unforgettable memories as families gathered to celebrate these incredible students stepping into their next chapter.

To our fifth graders — we are so proud of you and cannot wait to see all the amazing things your future holds.

Once a Longhorn, always a Longhorn. 🤘✨

Just a few more hours, and another amazing school year is officially in the books!

A huge thank you to our incredible front office staff for everything you do — from overseeing tardies (just kidding 😂) to making sure our students get what they need every single day, including those last-minute classroom snacks.
