**Hairology Institute of Cosmetology
Community Impact Scholarship – Essay Requirement**
Applicants must submit a typed letter (500–750 words) addressing the following:
1. Personal Background
Introduce yourself (family background, education, life experiences).
Describe what has influenced your decision to pursue cosmetology.
Share any challenges you have overcome.
2. Career Goals in Cosmetology
Explain why you chose the beauty industry.
Identify which area of cosmetology interests you most (hair design, nail artistry, esthetics, business ownership, education, etc.).
Describe your 3–5 year professional goals.
Explain how attending Hairology Institute of Cosmetology will help you achieve those goals.
3. Community Impact & Giving Back
Describe how you plan to give back to the community after becoming licensed.
Include specific examples such as:
Providing services for underserved populations
Mentoring youth interested in the beauty industry
Hosting free workshops or beauty education events
Supporting local shelters, senior centers, or community programs
Explain why community service is important to you.
4. Commitment & Professionalism
Explain why you deserve this scholarship.
Describe your work ethic, attendance reliability, and commitment to completing the program.
Include how you will represent Hairology Institute of Cosmetology with professionalism and integrity.
