Since 1951, Providence Catholic School has been a legacy of empowering young women in the heart of San Antonio. Today, we celebrate the generations of women who have walked these halls with purpose and gone out to lead with faith and integrity.

This year’s theme—Give to Gain —reminds us to embrace generosity, collaboration, and the spirit of Sisterhood. Our mission at Providence is to prepare young women to seek justice, practice integrity, and take bold action in their communities.

Happy International Women’s Day to our students, alumnae, educators and our founders the Sisters of Divine Providence.

On Monday, the celebrated mass with Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller at St. Rose of Lima Church. Our Provets came together as one in faith with all other Catholic high schools from the San Antonio Archdiocese.

Thank you to all who planned a beautiful liturgy. We are proud of our junior class and wish them luck and continued blessings this school year as they prepare for senior year.

On Monday morning, our school community gathered in prayer for peace. 🕊️

This was a moment to gather in prayer to acknowledge the complexity of the world while firmly rooting our identity in the Gospel of Peace.

🙏🏼Lord Jesus, you are the Prince of Peace. Give us the heart to love as you loved, the hands to serve as you served, and the voice to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. Lead us from the darkness of conflict into the light of your Kingdom.

Praised and blessed be Divine Providence… Now and forever. 💙

On Friday, we hosted a special Alumnae Panel for our freshman and sophomores during Flex Friday Career Guidance and Advising! 💙

Thank you to each of our distinguished alumnae who generously shared your professional journeys, life lessons, and honest insights with our students. Your stories of perseverance, faith, leadership, and growth were not only inspiring — they were transformational.

💙Gabrielle (Harden) Herrera, Class of 2012, Senior Marketing Manager for Community Growth at HubSpot
💙Marisa Sanchez, Class of 2013, serves as licensed attorney at Texas RioGRande Legal Aid.
💙Sterling C. Brannon, Class of 2011, Project Engineer on commercial land development at Pape-Dawson and Licensed Real Estate Agent.
💙Ann Trevino, Class of 1989, Started as a surgical Technologist in the Baptist system for 12 yrs and in the medical field for almost 20 years before working in her dream job as a Southwest Airlines flight attendant.

Our students were able to see firsthand what is possible when passion meets purpose. The wisdom you shared about navigating challenges, staying grounded in values, and defining success on your own terms will stay with them for years to come.

Moments like these remind us that the Providence Sisterhood is powerful, lifelong, and impactful. You are living proof that a Providence education prepares young women to lead, serve, and thrive in every profession and season of life.

Shout out to our student moderators for doing such a great job leading this opportunity. Alumnae! Stay tuned for the next opportunities this semester - March 20th and May 1st.

On Saturday, the Middle School Page Turners attended LibraryPalooza! at Brandies High School. The girls spent the day reading, meeting authors and learning about literacy! https://www.librarypaloozasa.org/

The MS Pageturners just completed a service project collecting new and gently used children’s books to gift to the Library of a new Catholic school, St. Peter’s in Boerne.

Our students in Moye Prayer group and Hype Squad joined all Catholic school in launching our 40 Days of Service initiative through Catholic Charities at Guadalupe Community Center. They participated in hands-on activities serving the community and living out our call to faith through action. ✝️

Providence Community! We can all seek ways to serve the greater community this Lenten Season. All may bring canned food and non-perishable items to Providence for 40 Can for Lent. Large yellow bins are in the main lobby. In Bexar county, 1 in 5 children experience food insecurity, so collectively we can make a small impact with this simple act of giving.
