The AAPG is offering student grants up to $500 through the L. Austin Weeks Undergradate Grant Program. The application deadline is 11:59 PM (PST)/April 15, 2017.

AAPG-UTSA will be holding a seminar on Wednesday, April 20th at 3:30 PM in FLN 2.01.20. Donald McGookey will be presenting on the Geology of Mexico. Check out the flyer for more details.

The AAPG Student Chapter at UTSA will hold its second seminar of the semester on Wednesday March 9, with the visit of Dr. David Weinberg who belongs to the AAPG Visiting Geoscientist Program. See flyer attached, and note that David will have time for one-on-one meeting with students who previously register for that via email (details in the flyer).

These grants are intended to support the educational endeavors of undergraduate geoscience students and their student-led organizations. Thanks to generous contributors, including L. Austin Weeks and Marta Weeks-Wulf, the Foundation will proudly grant $80,000 in funds to geoscience students and student associations in 2016.

Don't forget Dr. Salem's seminar on geoscience careers in the oil and gas industry at 3:30 PM on Wednesday in FLN 2.01.20!

Just a couple of updates:

AAPG-UTSA will have its first general meeting of the semester on Wednesday Feb. 10th @ 3:30 PM in FLN 2.01.20. Anthony Salem from Shell International Exploration & Production will be presenting. There will be a social following the seminar. This is a great networking opportunity! He will also be giving a second seminar on Thursday Feb. 11th @ 4PM in FLN 3.01.14.

$10 semester dues will also be collected during the meeting. Please don't forget to bring your dues!
