More than 90 new faculty members join UT San Antonio for the 2026–27 academic year - UT San Antonio Today The incoming scholars bring expertise from leading institutions, strengthening the university’s interdisciplinary research enterprise.

JULY 16 REMINDER: Due to ongoing heavy rains and flooding, all classes and research activities will be held remotely today. Additionally, Orientation is cancelled and all summer camps are cancelled, with the exception of Cheer Camp, which will be held indoors.

Essential personnel should report to campus today as scheduled if it is safe to drive. All other employees should work remotely. Employees with questions or special situations should contact their supervisors for guidance.

If you must be on the road, please use extreme caution. Do not drive through flooded roadways or high water and follow guidance from local emergency officials.

We will continue to provide updates about campus operations on UT San Antonio Today (news.utsa.edu).

Texas education leaders gathered at UT San Antonio for the State of Rural Education Summit, hosted by UTSA Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies to strengthen pathways, address workforce needs, and build partnerships that support rural communities.

June 19th, 1865, also known as Juneteenth, is significant in Texas as the day the emancipation proclamation decision reached our state.

We celebrate this day in honor of remembering the emancipation of African Americans who had been enslaved in the United States.

What began as a personal class assignment became an award‑winning essay and a defining moment in her academic journey.

Mexican American Studies student Abril “Andi” Garcia-Linn received top national honors from the National Association for Chicana and Chicano Studies (NACCS) Fredrick Cervantes Premio competition.

Her story is one of identity, resilience, and finding her place in academia.
