This week, Zachry Corporation donated $2 million to support the Texas A&M Engineering Academy at Alamo Colleges District’s Northeast Lakeview College, helping expand scholarships, program resources, and student support.

The investment is creating a more affordable and accessible pathway for future engineers to earn their degrees while staying connected to their communities.

The Texas A&M Engineering Academy at Northeast Lakeview College was established in 2018 and has had 73 graduates since 2022.

The path from paraprofessional to teacher just got a new starting point.

The Alamo Colleges District and Angelo State University announced the Texas 2-Step Teacher Certification Program, a new pathway helping paraprofessionals earn a bachelor’s degree and teacher certification while continuing to work in Texas public schools.

By removing barriers for working professionals, we’re creating more opportunities for experienced educators to build on their work and take the next step toward becoming certified teachers.
