Notice of Destruction of Special Education Records

Special Education records which have been collected by Foundation School of Autism - San Antonio related to the identification, evaluation, educational placement, or the provision of Special Education in the district, must be maintained under state and federal laws for a period of seven years after Special Education services have ended for the student. Special Education services end when the student is no longer eligible for services, withdraws and/or ages out of the program.

This notification is to inform parents/guardians and former students of Foundation School of Autism - San Antonio’s intent to destroy the Special Education records of students who are no longer receiving Special Education services as of the 2018-2019 school year. These records will be destroyed in accordance with state law unless the parent/guardian notifies the school district otherwise.

After seven years, the records are no longer useful to the district, but they may be useful to the parent/guardian in applying for Social Security benefits, rehabilitation services, etc. The parent/guardian may request the records in writing or in person at the following address:

Congratulations to our first grade graduates this year! Ms. Lina’s class did a performance of The Duckling Gets a Cookie. We will miss all of our graduates!

The kids are really enjoying the last couple of days of school! Ms. Madelynn's class had a space themed party, Ms. Liz had a Luau, and Ms. Lina's kids enjoyed water day.

Ms. Lina's class had their second annual market day today. The kids have been learning about money, so they made crafts to sell at the market and identified the coins.

FSA would like to thank Chick-fil-A for bringing the cow to visit the students yesterday. They have been learning about places in our community this month. They loved the visit!

The kids loved celebrating Fiesta with a float parade today!

It was cold and windy, but we enjoyed getting to see the families who met up at the Walk for Autism on Saturday!

Foundation School would like to thank the Joint Base San Antonio Fire Department for their generous donation to the school! They sold autism awareness shirts as a fundraiser. We appreciate your support!
