Kiting Practice at Lone Star Paramotor

Kiting is the process of learning how to inflate, control, and stabilize the wing while staying on the ground. It teaches pilots how the wing responds to their inputs and changing conditions, helping them develop the timing, coordination, and control needed for a successful launch.

In this training session, our student is putting those skills into practice. He's learning to inflate and keep the wing balanced overhead while making small corrections needed to stay in control. Every practice session builds experience and prepares students for the next step in their training.

Before every takeoff, a thorough gear check is essential. At Lone Star Paramotor, students learn to inspect their equipment and make sure everything is properly secured and functioning, such as: the wing, lines, harness, motor, helmet, and communication headset.

Clear communication between the student and instructor is important during training on the ground and especially in the air. Before launching, we check the headset and radio connection to make sure guidance can be clearly heard throughout the flight.

A few minutes spent checking your gear can make a big difference. Good preparation starts on the ground and helps set the foundation for a safe, successful flight.

"I had been calling Lone Star Paramotor off and on for the past year while trying to decide whether I wanted to pursue my private pilot’s license or give paramotoring a shot. Every time I called, Ron was patient, helpful, and never made me feel pressured. What really stood out to me was that when I finally called back, Ron remembered who I was and remembered our conversations from months earlier. That says a lot about the kind of people they are.
