Our Department has conjoined with the Department of Music. As per the approval of St. Mary’s University Board of Trustees, we officially became the Department of Music and Theatre Arts on October 11, 2024.

We’re in rehearsals for RADIUM GIRLS! It’s directed by Shawn Hardee with Production Design by Dion Denevan and Costumes by Marie Southern.

We’re learning, empathizing and caring about the plight of these women. In 1926, radium was a miracle cure, Madame Curie an international celebrity, and luminous watches the latest rage—until the girls who painted them began to fall ill with a mysterious disease. Inspired by a true story, RADIUM GIRLS traces the efforts of Grace Fryer, a dial painter, as she fights for her day in court.

Called a "powerful" and "engrossing" drama by critics, RADIUM GIRLS offers a wry, unflinching look at the peculiarly American obsessions with health, wealth, and the commercialization of science.

WE OPEN NOVEMBER 15 and run for seven performances until NOVEMBER 23 in the Treadaway Recital Hall. Check back here for information on tickets and reservations in late October/ early November.

We thank all who were involved in making MY BODY IS NOT A PRAYER REQUEST happen, especially Kurt Wilkinson and Jackie Velez who performed with Bernadette “Bodie”Hamilton-Brady. This was Bodie’s last production as she is retiring May 31, 2025. Forty students worked on the show and we ARE SO APPRECIATIVE of their contributions!!!!🤗🙏🏻🎭
