Join the Department of Art and Art History as we welcome artist, Julia Barbosa Landois for a guest lecture. Barbosa Landois will discuss the project "W**d is a Word", opening at Ruby City this fall, as part of her larger artistic practice in video, installation, and performance.
"W**d is a Word" employs a garden of wild plants, a free zine, and a community event to promote dialogues addressing belonging and exclusion in the human and more than human spheres. This project continues a decade of work about ecological distress, the poetry of the everyday, and cultivation of relationships with land from a perspective beyond human-centered biases.
