Our sincere gratitude to all who participated in MACC's Annual Pastoral Visit with Archbishop Gustavo. Thank you for joining us in prayer, reflection, and dialogue as we explored themes of immigration, synodality, the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and the future vision of our Archdiocese.

Archbishop Gustavo's message resonates deeply with MACC's mission and heritage. For more than five decades, MACC has been dedicated to preparing and accompanying leaders who serve the Church and society with faith, compassion, and cultural understanding. As we honor this legacy, we remain committed to responding to the realities of today and helping shape a more hopeful, welcoming, and missionary future for our communities.

Together, we continue building a Church that listens, accompanies, and walks forward in faith.

Remembering Monsignor Juan I. Alfaro

Today, the MACC community gives thanks for the life and legacy of Monsignor Juan I. Alfaro, priest, biblical scholar, educator, mentor, and member of MACC's pioneering 1974 Pastoral Institute Team.

For more than five decades, Monsignor Alfaro dedicated his life to Sacred Scripture, pastoral formation, and the development of generations of clergy, religious, and lay leaders. His influence extended far beyond the classroom, touching countless lives through his teaching, mentorship, friendship, and faithful service to the Church.

As Sister Angela Erevia, MCDP, recalls:

"I welcomed Father Juan to MACC as a member of the Pastoral Institute in 1974. He had a great love for God, the Scriptures, his native Spain, and the people. He cultivated friendship with countless persons and stayed connected. Todo lo que hacía, lo hacía con una sonrisa."

Many in our community remember Monsignor Alfaro's continued presence at MACC through the years, celebrating Mass, teaching, mentoring students, presiding at graduations, and spending time in our library and reference room preparing homilies and continuing his lifelong study of Scripture.

Today, Alfaro Hall stands as a lasting reminder of his contributions to MACC and the generations of leaders he helped form.
