SAISD schools will operate on a normal schedule Monday, Aug. 31. CPS Energy continues working to restore service, and district teams are actively inspecting campuses to ensure they are safe, operational, and ready to welcome students and staff.

We will provide another update at approximately 6 p.m.

🎒 Don’t Forget Your School Supplies!
As you prepare for the new school year, please take a moment to review your child’s 2026–2027 school supply list. Students are encouraged to bring their school supplies with them to Meet the Teacher so they are ready for the first day of school.

👕 Uniform Drive
If your family needs school uniforms, be sure to stop by our Steele Library during Meet the Teacher! We will have new and gently used uniforms available for Steele students while supplies last. We hope this helps ensure every student is ready for a successful first day of school.

We are excited to welcome all of our new Steele families to New Family Orientation next week! This event is a wonderful opportunity to become familiar with our school community, learn about the Montessori philosophy, and prepare for a successful start to the 2026–2027 school year.

New Family Orientation

During the orientation, you will:
- Meet members of our Steele team.
- Learn about the Montessori approach to teaching and learning.

- Have an opportunity to ask questions and connect with other new Steele families.

Uniform Drive:
If your child needs school uniforms for the upcoming year, we invite you to visit our Library during the event. We will have both brand-new and gently used uniforms available for any Steele student in need while supplies last.

This is a reminder that our last day of school is this Thursday, May 28th. It will be early dismissal, so please pick up your students starting at 1:00 p.m.

This is also a reminder that the last day for YMCA after-school care will be Wednesday, May 27th. Please plan to pick up your student at 1:00 p.m. on
Thursday, May 28th.

Dear Steele Staff and Families,

In celebration of the San Antonio Spurs advancing to the Western Conference Finals, Steele Montessori will continue our Spurs Spirit Days!

Students may wear San Antonio Spurs gear on the designated school days listed below:

* Monday, May 18 – Game Day
* Wednesday, May 20 – Game Day
* Friday, May 22 – Game Day
* Tuesday, May 26 – Game Day, if the series continues
* Thursday, May 28 – Game Day, if the series continues

Please note that additional dates are based on the playoff schedule, and all dates are subject to change.

On Spurs Spirit Days, students may wear:

* Spurs shirts or jerseys
* Black, silver, or white attire
* Spurs-themed accessories

Spurs gear must be worn with approved uniform bottoms, including uniform pants, skirts, or shorts. All attire must remain school-appropriate. Students who choose not to participate should wear their regular uniform.
