ILA at UTSA The International Literacy Association at UTSA. Our goal is to promote literacy and to aid our pre-service teachers in becoming excellent educators.

This page is here to inform our current and potential members with information on the activities of our organization, such as upcoming meetings, opportunities to volunteer with literacy-focused organizations in the community, and other important news. I hope that it will also serve, for our members, as a valuable source of interesting and relevant information on the topics of literacy, education,

and other topics that are of interest to future teachers. Our organization is very fun, and our meetings are always super interesting and informative! It is a great group for all UTSA students with an interest in the topic of literacy, but is especially beneficial to those with the goal of becoming a teacher. We offer a lot of guidance to our pre-service teachers, such as information and advice on what to expect in your student teaching semester, the process of interviewing for a teaching position, and your first year as a teacher. So, if you want to connect with and learn from others who have been where you hope to go, come and join us at one of our meetings and become a member!
