Pre-K got to play Letter Bingo today while Pre-Schoolers were working on their fine motor skills. Today was a great gloomy day.

Happy 4th birthday Jaxon! ❤️

Our toddlers are doing great learning their shapes while doing fine motor activities.

Welcome back! We’ve had a great first two days so far and are looking forward to an awesome year.

A letter to my friends on their first day of Kindergarten:

Today is the big day!
Today, you become a Kindergartner. You may be excited. You may be scared. That's okay. Just remember that God is with you. Remember our songs. Remember our stories. God goes with you to Kindergarten- even if this year Kindergarten is at your home on the computer. He is your BEST friend. He gives you courage, strength, and wisdom.

Kindergarten is a special time in your life and you will learn so much. In our time together, we talked about how you would go to Kindergarten and learn so many things with your new teacher. I pray your new teacher is wonderful and loving. I pray that if your new teacher doesn't know Jesus, you- my preschool graduates- show Jesus to your teacher.

In our time together, we learned Friendship, kindness, compassion, sharing, empathy, independence, teamwork, honesty, courage, creativity, adventure, problem solving, and so much more. I pray you take that to Kindergarten with you. I pray you be an example of Jesus's love to your classmates, teachers, and parents.

I am so proud of you! You're going to have such a great time in Kindergarten. I hope you continue to share your achievements with me. I love seeing your art work and hearing your stories.

Have a wonderful school year, my friends. Mrs Lizzie loves you so much. 💛

Happy Mother’s Day to all of our moms! ❤️

We have some awesome teachers at CT Day School! This week let your teacher’s know how much they mean to you and your kiddos!

This came from the Texas Health and Human Services Department

We will continue to keep you updated:

COVID-19 Guidance to Child Care Providers

Based on state law, federal guidance, and Governor Abbotts disaster declaration, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is updating requirements for day care operations to assist them in protecting children in their care from COVID-19.

HHSC Child Care Licensing (CCL) urges all current providers to immediately implement the following guidance, which is consistent with the new requirements:
•Prohibit any person except the following from accessing an operation: operation staff; persons with legal authority to enter, including law enforcement officers, HHSC Child Care Licensing staff, and Department of Family and Protective Services staff; professionals providing services to children; children enrolled at the operation; and parents who have children enrolled and present at the operation.
•Before allowing entry into the operation, screen all of the individuals listed above, including taking the temperature of each person upon arrival at the operation each day, and deny entry to any person who meets any of the following criteria:
1.A temperature of 100.4F or above;
2.Signs or symptoms of a respiratory infection, such as a cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, and low-grade fever;
3.In the previous 14 days has had contact with someone with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19; is under investigation for COVID-19; or is ill with a respiratory illness; or
4.In the previous 14 days has travelled internationally to countries with widespread, sustained community transmission. For updated information on affected countries, visit: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/travelers/index.html.
•Require pick up and drop off of children outside of the operation, unless you determine that there is a legitimate need for the parent to enter an operation.
•Ensure that each child is provided individual meals and snacks. Do not serve family style meals.

CCL also will be issuing Frequently Asked Questions as early as possible next week. In the meantime, you can send any questions you may have to the licensing standards comments mailbox at [email protected].

Please remember to sanitize your operations, wash hands diligently, and have staff members stay home if they are sick. We also are encouraging providers to contact CCL with any questions you might have or technical assistance you might need. We recognize the extraordinary challenge this situation poses to your operations and pledge to offer our support, including any necessary regulatory flexibility, to help you protect the health and safety of the children in your care.

[03/14/20]   Dear Parents and Families,

As some of you are aware, NEISD made the decision to implement a district wide closure effective March 16-20.

It is the policy at CT Day School to follow the direction of NEISD for school closures, so we will be closed next week as well. We know this can cause great inconvenience to many families and for that we apologize.

This was not an easy decision to make because we know this poses a hardship and inconvenience for many families. However, we are hoping this will help slow the spread of COVID-19 and keep our school family safe.

This decision was made in the best interest of the children, families, and our teachers and their families. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Received this from the Texas Health and Human Services

COVID-19 Notification to Child Care Providers

A novel coronavirus is causing an outbreak of respiratory disease called Coronavirus Disease 2019. The Texas Department of State Health Services is closely monitoring this situation in coordination with federal agencies and reports that several cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in people in the United States. Some of these people were under federal quarantine at JSBA-Lackland in San Antonio.

The immediate risk of this new virus to the American public is believed to be low. Health officials recommend the best way to protect yourself against COVID-19 is the same way we prevent the spread of illnesses like the common cold or flu:
•Wash your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds
•If soap and water is not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol
•Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
•Cough and sneeze into a tissue then throw it away, or cough and sneeze into your upper shirt sleeve, completely covering your mouth and nose
•Wash your hands after coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose
•Disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects such as toys and doorknobs
•Exclude children who have a communicable disease from routine activities or attendance (25 Texas Administrative Code 97.7)

If a staff member or a child in your care contracts a communicable disease, report the occurrence to DSHS, HHSC, and the childs parent. Follow all other minimum standards regarding health precautions you must take regarding communicable diseases.

Child Care Licensing will continue to collaborate with DSHS and communicate new information as it occurs. For more information, visit DSHS website dedicated to providing the latest information about COVID-19.
