“Imagine if policymakers at all levels of government were committed to fully funding public education instead of undermining and privatizing it. Fully funded public schools would mean full staffing where students are able to get the support they need from the professionals who are committed to serving them.”

Yesterday anchor organizations of The Schools Our Students Deserve Coalition met for a powerful morning of planning and strategizing in alignment with the maydaystrong national network. It’s election time in Texas, and we’re ready to vote, mobilize our friends, families, coworkers, and neighbors to the polls, and stand together against election interference in any form.

We need organized people to defeat organized money, and we’re getting organized in San Antonio to fight for a city, state, and country that puts workers over billionaires.

We had a blast on Friday night, breaking bread and dancing with union siblings from locals across the city, and with labor-endorsed, pro-public education candidates and elected officials from across the state, including the next governor of the great state of Texas, Rep. Gina Hinojosa.

Labor Day belongs to the workers who make our city, our schools, our state, and our country run - the true power behind our economy, our education system, and our future.
