🌟💙🦉 We are beyond HONORED, Owl Nation! 🦉💙🌟

The Oak Hills Terrace Elementary PTA recently received the most heartwarming recognition from Senator José Menéndez of District 26 — and we just HAD to share this incredible moment with our entire OHT community! 💛✨

Senator Menéndez sent us a personal card congratulating our PTA on securing our Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) Grant and recognizing the hard work and dedication that went into earning it! 💙🎨 To have our state senator acknowledge the work our PTA does for our students means absolutely EVERYTHING to us! 🙏

🎭 But here's why this grant truly matters, Owl Nation — 🎭

Thanks to the TCA Grant that our PTA worked SO hard to earn, we were able to cover HALF the cost of bringing the incredible Magik Theatre to Oak Hills Terrace to perform their amazing rendition of "Red Riding Hood" for our students! 🐺🌟

Watching the faces of our Owls light up with wonder and joy during that performance — THAT is exactly why we do everything we do! 💙💛 That is exactly what your PTA is fighting for every single day! 🦉🙌

CALLING ALL OAK HILLS TERRACE ELEMENTARY FAMILIES! 🐾
Are you looking for a meaningful way to get involved on campus and make a lasting impact on our students? It’s time for our village to step up and join the WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) and M.O.M.S.program!
Our program is fully inclusive, whether you are a mom, dad, grandparent, aunt, uncle, or adult older sibling, we want YOU volunteering in our halls this school year!

❓ What is the Program?
It is a fantastic family and community engagement initiative designed to bring positive family role models directly into our school hallways, cafeteria, and classrooms. When you sign up, you commit to volunteering on campus for at least one full or half day during the school year.
During your day, you will get to:
🚶‍♂️ Help monitor hallways and entrances to provide an extra set of eyes and ears.
🍎 Join the students during lunch and high-five them at recess.
📚 Assist teachers in classrooms by helping small groups with reading, flashcards, or assignments.
🎉 Spend special time with your student (Pro-tip: Sign up on your child's birthday to be their ultimate campus superhero for the day!).

💡 How It Benefits Our Kids:
Positive Role Models: Whether it's a sibling showing that high school/college kids care about learning, a grandparent sharing wisdom, or a parent showing up, your active presence demonstrates to all children that education is a family priority.
Enhanced Safety & Support: Dedicated family volunteers reduce bullying, strengthen school security, and give kids a trusted adult to lean on.
Confidence Boost: Seeing their moms, dads, grandparents, or older siblings involved at school gives students a massive boost in confidence and self-esteem.
