Thank you, Councilman Saldana, for recognizing one of our hard working ECHS students!

Meet Melivia Mujica, she is a 1st Generation American, South San Antonio ISD HS Junior, Captain of the Swim Team, Editor of the Newspaper, spokesperson for the Enrichment Club, and member of the National Honor Society. She and I met through Communities In Schools of San Antonio Upward Bound. I heard she was fundraising for an educational summer program in Italy through the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE). Because she’s also a UTSA - The University of Texas at San Antonio Pre-freshman Engineering Program (PREP) graduate. A few of us PREP Alumni and supporters got together to help defray the cost and close the gap. Thanks for your donation Marina Alderete Gavito Councilwoman Ana Sandoval, Dr. Rudy Reyna, and Dr Manuel Berriozobal. This future engineer thanks you for helping her reach her potential. PS, She’s also an Early College Palo Alto College student 👩🏽‍🎓
