NEISD is closely monitoring weather forecasts and local conditions. 🚌🌧️

Due to the potential for flooding and possible unexpected road closures, our school bus drivers will exercise extra caution to ensure student safety. This may result in delays or adjusted routes. The safety and well-being of our community remain our highest priority.

We appreciate your patience and encourage everyone to use caution when traveling in affected areas. Please check the NEISD website at neisd.net and follow social media channels regularly for real-time announcements and updates.

5TH GRADE SPOTLIGHT // Mixing up some scientific magic! ✨🧪

Our 5th graders turned into mini mad scientists today as they tested the question: Do all solids dissolve in liquids?

From swirling and stirring to watching solids “disappear” into liquids, lab day was a total hit for these scientists!

SYSTEM STARS // Lights, camera… SYSTEMS! ✨🔦

Our Northwood first graders became little engineers as they learned all about systems and what happens when one part isn’t functioning properly! 🧩🔧

They put their problem-solving skills to work by assembling flashlights, troubleshooting, and getting them shining again! 💡👏

When every part does its job, the whole system works! 🌟💚

MEET A STAFF MEMBER MONDAY // Another Monday means another staff member introduction! However, this staff member probably does not need much of an introduction as we all know and love her, say hello to Ms. Marhofer, SECOND grade teacher! 🤗💚

Ms. Marhofer moved from 1st to 2nd grade this school year and is loving it already! Here’s what she wanted to share about her new role:

“Northwood feels like one of the coziest places to work! I love the people, I love the kids, and I LOVE my job. I am thrilled to have now taught all of early education before 2nd grade. It’s incredible to see the amazing things that each grade learns and builds on each year. This year is going to be magical!”

Northwood family,
WE HIT OUR GOAL!!!! We could not have done it without the incredible support of our community past and present. 💚

BUT WHY STOP HERE?! The Big Give ends tonight at 6 pm and our sister school, Serna Elementary, is raising money for water bottle refill stations on campus. We know how important it is to keep our children hydrated especially in this Texas heat! Please consider donating or sharing their fundraiser and let’s help eachother out 💚🩵🦭
