Congratulations to Ms. Reyna, our Woodlawn Academy Teacher of the Year!
As part of Eagle tradition, we would like to invite you to come be a part of Career Day at Woodlawn Academy. Career Day serves as an opportunity for students to learn about a variety of non‐traditional and traditional career opportunities that they may not be aware of, simultaneously inspiring them to excel in school. It is our hope that the students’ horizons will broaden, and their interests piqued to work hard for future career possibilities that will be present for them.
Career Day will take place on Wednesday, May 18, 2022.
We are asking community members to come and share their careers with our students. Presenters will be discussing the requirements, rewards, and challenges of your career, emphasizing the importance of education. Presenters will have a choice between morning and afternoon time slots, or both if desired. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our counseling clerk, Abigail Koenig ([email protected]) or counselor, Grissel Gandaria at ([email protected]). You can reach us by our office phone(210) 438-6560 ext. 67509.

Last evening at our regularly scheduled Board meeting, the SAISD Board of Trustees made the decision to lift the district’s mask mandate, changing our mask protocols from “required” to “encouraged.” Therefore, beginning today, March 22, all staff, students, and visitors throughout our schools and facilities will be “encouraged” to wear masks until further notice. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have based all of our decisions on science and local health data to implement our safety protocols. Currently, we are experiencing significant improvement in our local health statistics, and this is why the decision to move our mask protocols from “required” to “encouraged” was made.
