We had an incredible turnout for our first collage gallery!  Featuring the work of local collage artists from across the San Antonio community, the gallery sparked meaningful conversations, inspiration, and opportunities to connect through art.

We’re so grateful to everyone who answered our call to share their work and help bring this gallery to life at the Green House. As SAPI, we hope to continue creating space to showcase and celebrate local artists, regardless of medium. ❤️

Your presence brought so much creativity, heart, and community spirit to the day. It was amazing to see neighbors come together, discover new local businesses, support small makers, and enjoy everything our community has to offer.

This past Saturday, our Puro Community Market was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who showed up, shopped local, supported our artists and vendors, and helped make the day so special. Your support goes beyond the market; it helps support SAPI’s mission and the after-school programs that create opportunities for our students to learn, create, and grow.

Our students truly appreciated everyone who came out to support. Thank you for continuing to show up for Puro Community and for believing in the work we’re building together.

Our photography students had the opportunity to capture the grand opening of Eternal Morning Coffee this past weekend!

A huge thank you to Mariah, the owner of eternalmorningcoffee_satx, for inviting our students to be part of such a special milestone. Opportunities like this give our students a chance to step into real-world creative spaces, strengthen their photography and storytelling skills, and experience what it looks like to use their creativity to help tell the story of a growing local business.

From capturing the details to finding the moments in between, our students are learning that photography can be more than just taking a picture. It can be a way to connect with a community, document a story, and bring a vision to life. 🤎

We’re grateful for every opportunity that allows our students to learn, create, and see where their talents can take them.

Meet the Artist | Alycia Vargas

“As a multimedia artist and zinester working across painting, sculpture, and collage, my practice serves as a culmination of daily lived experiences. My work is deeply informed by my identity as a q***r Hispanic individual navigating chronic illness, exploring the delicate intersections of joy, human suffering, and personal resistance. Through these mediums, I translate internal emotional processing into tangible forms, ultimately striving to cultivate a shared space for genuine human connection and vulnerability.”
