Our advanced robotics community team is BACK! Our registration form will go live on Tuesday September 1 at 8 am so set your alarms. Seats for this opportunity will go fast but please read the following details regarding this year’s offering before registering:

-Practices are on Sundays from 2-4 pm beginning Sunday September 13
-4 competitions will likely occur on Saturdays in December/January and are all day events
-Parents/guardians are responsible for transport to and from all activities.
-This opportunity is for 6th-12th grade students

Check out this FREE opportunity for high schoolers taking place Tech Port San Antonio!

The Space Exploration Academy Foundation (SEAF), which is supported by the Port’s own affiliated Kelly Heritage Foundation, is recruiting its next cohort for Space Exploration 201. This is an eight-week, hands-on STEM enrichment program hosted at Port San Antonio (inside the Boeing Center). Students will get practical experience with space robotics, rocket sciences and vacuum sciences, along with an opportunity to work with UTSA faculty mentors on real-world projects and research.

The program runs Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon, September 5 through October 24, with classes at Port San Antonio.

There are 50 spots available, and the program is at no cost to students. We’re especially interested in reaching students from schools across our community who are curious about engineering, robotics, space, technology or other STEM fields—even if they haven’t previously participated in a program like this.

This summer we had so much fun hosting New Worlds Await You and their Space Camp that we are beyond thrilled to announce a semester long after school space program! 5th through 8th grade students are eligible to apply. The registration form can be found in our Instagram bio, our ParentSquare group, or our Facebook comments on this post. The form will go live at 8 am on Monday, August 24th!🪐

This is a FREE program!

Program Description: Students are challenged to design a lunar habitat within a lava tube. The curriculum follows the Engineering Design Process and students will work in teams throughout the challenge. Students will also interact with Space STEM professionals via Zoom sessions for mentoring and design reviews. The program culminates with student teams building a model of their habitat using recyclable materials and competing for “best habitat” against teams from across Texas and Eastern New Mexico.

She’s a product of the Harlandale Cybersecurity CTE program and we are excited to have her coaching our first foray into this platform.
