In order for your student to being attending our programs on the first day of school, you must come in and complete the registration payment process.

Our Extended Day Programs (EDP) ACE & LEAP are officially starting on the first day of school – Wednesday, August 13th!

We’re thrilled to welcome students back into our fun, engaging, and supportive afterschool programs. From academics to enrichment activities, we can’t wait to get started!

Dear EDP Families,

We hope you’re enjoying a safe, relaxing, and fun-filled summer with your students! We’re reaching out with an important update about our Extended Day Programs - ACE & LEAP.

As you may have heard, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) was notified on June 30, 2025, that all federal grant decisions, including those tied to the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (Texas ACE), are currently under review by the new federal administration.

This means that funding for many education programs, not just afterschool, has been delayed nationwide.

The good news? We’ve been informed that ACE funds will be released, but unfortunately, there’s no exact date yet. Because of this, Harlandale ISD has not received the official green light to begin spending.

So, what does this mean for you and your student? In order to ensure we launch the high-quality programming your families deserve, and to be responsible with our budget, we are shifting our EDP start date to Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025. This gives us time to prepare while we wait for the necessary funds.

In the meantime, we encourage all families to complete registration so we’re ready to go once programming begins!
