Spanish language New World screwworm webinar set for July 30 - AgriLife Today The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will host a Spanish-language Zoom webinar July 30 at 10 a.m. focused on New World screwworm.

AgriLife Extension offers New World screwworm field guide for cattle producers - AgriLife Today Beef cattle producers who find or suspect New World screwworm, NWS, now have a user-friendly field guide to help with the process.

What happens when New World Screwworm (NWS) is detected? USDA and our State partners spring into action, establishing a 20km “Infested Zone” around confirmed cases. Within these zones, there are requirements and inspections to allow livestock to move, while increasing surveillance and releasing sterile flies to keep the pest from spreading.

Smart safeguards, strong coordination, and safe movement - protecting producers and keeping commerce moving.
