In this technique, Tori aims to break Uke’s balance towards his right front corner. As Uke advances, Tori adds his own power to help Uke advance even faster, then stops Uke from stepping forward while continuing the momentum of his upper body in a circular motion.
Tori steps quickly to the right with his toes pointing to the left so that he begins turning towards his left while pulling Uke around him with his left hand. The sole of Tori’s foot is then placed just above Uke’s right ankle, creating a pivot point. Tori keeps his left leg almost straight and continues his turn to the left to throw Uke over his left leg.
