We are entering our last week of fundraising and we still need your help - we are 47% of the way to our $4,600 goal to get our four amazing double reed players to the Conference in Oxford, Ohio to give the world premiere of their newly commissioned work.
Today we focus in on Francis Maille, a French horn music education major that has been seriously studying the bassoon the last few semester. We asked Francis what going to the International Double Reed Society Conference would mean to him:
“Going to IDRS would mean so much to be able to meet and expand my network of double reed players. Especially because I never got the chance to really involve myself with other bassoon and oboe players until I got to college.”

Wait… Miami has cornfields?!🌽
That’s right, the UT San Antonio double reed studios are heading to the (IDRS) Conference in less than a month to give a world premiere of a piece written just for us!
But here’s the twist: we aren’t heading to the beaches of Florida. We’re heading to Miami University… in Oxford, Ohio.🏖️➡️🌽
