๐ŸŒง๏ธ Rain in a Cup ๐ŸŒง๏ธ

We explored how clouds make rain with this simple and magical science experiment!

First, we filled our cup with water. Then we added a fluffy layer of shaving cream to make our โ€œcloud.โ€ Finally, we dropped food coloring on top and watched as the cloud filled up. When it became too heavy to hold all that waterโ€ฆ ๐ŸŒง๏ธ it rained!

This hands-on activity helps our little scientists:
๐Ÿ”ฌ Learn about weather and clouds
๐Ÿง  Build early science vocabulary
๐Ÿ‘€ Practice observation and patience
โœ‹ Strengthen fine motor skills

Science is even more fun when you can see it happen! ๐Ÿ’™

โ˜ƒ๏ธ Week 3 of Holiday STEM Lab โ˜ƒ๏ธ
Science met winter wonder this week as we turned a polymer powder into snow using water! The kids learned how absorption works while exploring the texture, movement, and magic of instant snow. Curiosity was sparked and imaginations were flying! โ„๏ธ๐Ÿง

๐ŸŽ„โœจ Holiday STEM Lab โ€“ Week 2: Binary Coding Ornaments! โœจ๐ŸŽ„

This week in Holiday STEM Lab, our little engineers turned into holiday coders! ๐Ÿ’ป๐ŸŽ…
Using binary code, students created Christmas ornaments that spelled E-L-F using patterns and logic.

๐Ÿ”ด Red beads = 0
๐ŸŸข Green beads = 1
โšช White beads = spaces between letters

By following a code and stringing their beads just right, our students practiced sequencing, pattern recognition, and early coding skillsโ€”all while making a festive ornament to take home!

STEM + holiday magic = learning that sparkles! โœจ

๐ŸŽ„ Holiday STEM Lab โ€“ Week 1! ๐ŸŽ„
This week our little engineers became Christmas tree designers! ๐ŸŒŸ

Using green cups to build the tree and colorful pompoms as ornaments, our kiddos practiced engineering skills, balance, problem-solving, and creativity. They experimented with different ways to stack, support, and decorate their trees โ€” and each one turned out uniquely adorable! ๐Ÿ’šโœจ

Hands-on holiday STEM is the best kind of magic! ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ”ง
We canโ€™t wait for next weekโ€™s festive experiment! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’ก

๐Ÿฆƒ๐Ÿ Happy Thanksgiving from Little STEM Club! ๐Ÿงชโœจ
Today weโ€™re extra thankful for our curious, creative, and enthusiastic young scientists who bring joy and excitement to every class. Thank you, families and schools, for supporting hands-on learning and letting us share these STEM adventures with your amazing kiddos! ๐Ÿ’›

Wishing you a day full of family, food, laughter, and cozy fall moments. Weโ€™re grateful for you! ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ‚

๐Ÿ Fall Into STEM โ€“ Week 3!
This week our Little STEM scientists became engineers! ๐Ÿง โš™๏ธ
We designed and built our very own acorn catapults, then tested how far we could launch our acorns! ๐ŸŽฏ๐ŸŒฐ

We explored:
๐Ÿ”ง Engineering design (build & adjust)
๐Ÿ“ Force and motion (push harder = fly farther!)
๐ŸŒŸ Problem solving (fixing and improving our catapults!)

Every launch taught us something new โ€” and every giggle meant learning felt fun! ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ

๐Ÿ Week 2 of Fall Into STEM! ๐Ÿ
This week our Little STEM Club friends became coders! ๐Ÿค–โœจ

We practiced giving step-by-step commands to our robots and helped them travel through a taped maze on the floor. The mission?
๐Ÿฆƒ Find the turkey!

The kids worked together, planned their paths, and tested their code to see if their robot could turn, move, and navigate all the way to the finish. So much problem-solving, teamwork, and excitement!

Coding at this age helps build early logic, sequencing skills, and confidenceโ€”and they had a blast doing it! ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ’กThis week in Little STEM Club, we explored the magic of light!
Our young scientists learned about refraction โ€” what happens when light bends as it travels through water. โœจ When we placed our colored picture in water, it completely disappeared! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ But it wasnโ€™t magicโ€ฆ it was science!

Through hands-on discovery, we learned that light can change direction when it passes through different materials, making things look different (or even vanish before our eyes!). ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ”

๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ’ฅ Week 4 of STEM-O-WEEN was an explosive good time!
Our Little STEM Club scientists created their very own Pumpkin Volcanoes using baking soda and vinegar โ€” and watched a real chemical reaction happen right before their eyes! ๐ŸŒ‹๐Ÿงช

We saw bubbling lava, heard the fizz, and even made a gas! ๐Ÿ’จโœจ
Science + Halloween fun = the perfect spooky combo! ๐Ÿ‘ป๐Ÿงก

๐ŸŽ‰ Welcome, Spanish Grove Academy! ๐ŸŽ‰

Weโ€™re so excited to welcome our newest Little STEM Club members from Spanish Grove Academy! ๐Ÿงก Get ready for a month full of spooky science, creative building, and hands-on fun!

This week, our young engineers built Spider Houses using toothpicks and pumpkin candies. ๐Ÿ•ธ๏ธ๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ They explored balance, structure, and problem-solving while creating the perfect homes for their little candy spiders!

We canโ€™t wait to see what our curious scientists will build next! ๐Ÿ’กโœจ

๐ŸŒŸ Exciting News! ๐ŸŒŸ
Weโ€™re so happy to welcome Mrs. Carah Shuler to the Little STEM Club family! ๐ŸŽ‰

Mrs. Carah is a certified teacher with experience teaching 1st and 2nd grade in Boerne ISD. She has spent time shadowing Mrs. Lauren at Lil Explorers & Mini Texans and will be leading those classes!

Fun fact โ€” she was actually Mrs. Laurenโ€™s sonโ€™s first-grade teacher, and we know firsthand how wonderful she is! ๐Ÿ’™

Weโ€™re so excited for our students to learn and explore with her!
Welcome, Mrs. Carah! ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿซ๐Ÿงชโœจ
