We honor Texas A&M-San Antonio Sports' Christi Cano in our series. Christi has been in the conference for 10 years, first with the University of Houston-Victoria (now Texas A&M University-Victoria A&M-Victoria Jaguars Athletics) beginning in 2016-17. She started as assistant coach, and from 2017-20, she served as head coach for the men. She moved on to TAMUSA in 2020 to coach the inaugural men’s golf team, where she remains today. She also serves as the assistant athletic director and Senior Woman Leader. Christi led the Jaguars to a conference title in 2025 and a berth to the NAIA National Championship. She also had a highly successful collegiate career at Oklahoma State University, where she was named All-American twice. She helped the Cowgirls to three Big 12 Conference Championships. Christi also played professionally on the LPGA Tour, where she successfully qualified for and competed in three U.S. Women’s Opens. In 2013, she won the Texas Women’s Open. Congratulations, Christi, for your service to TAMUSA, A&M-Victoria, and the RRAC!
