3rd Place at BOA South Houston. 🥉

On Saturday, October 3, the Claudia Taylor Johnson High School Band took the field at the Bands of America South Houston Regional in Iowa Colony, TX, bringing On Moving On to life.

A show about reflection, change, memories, and the courage to keep moving forward—told through music, movement, and the incredible energy of our students.

Featuring music by Igor Stravinsky, The Cranberries, Nat King Cole, and Jacob Collier, On Moving On continues to grow with every performance.

3rd place among an incredibly talented field.

Congratulations to our CTJ Jazz students!

We are so proud of the 8 CTJ Band students who earned positions in the TMEA Region 12 Jazz Band! This is an incredible accomplishment and a testament to their hard work, dedication, and love for music.

These talented students will record auditions for the All-State Jazz Band on October 12th and will perform with the All-Region Jazz Band on December 5th.

Help us congratulate David Farias, Samantha Finnerty, Bruno Martinez, Jeffrey Benavidez, Aharon Camacho, Simeon Hazelton, Jacob Gilbert, and Julian Contreras!

Trailer Update:

Thank you so much to everyone who has reached out, checked on us, and offered your support as we continue moving forward after the damage to our band trailer. We truly appreciate all the kindness and concern our band family has received.

Unfortunately, we have learned that the damage will not be covered by insurance. Because our school district automatically moves vehicles over 20 years old to liability-only coverage, and our trailer is over 30 years old, we will now need to rely on our fundraising efforts combined with any assistance the district can provide to help with the repairs.

Our Band Parents Association is currently running our annual JagBlitz campaign, and we would be incredibly grateful for your support. Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a difference. If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this post would mean so much to us as well.

Thank you again for continuing to support our students and the CTJ Band family. We are truly grateful for this community and everyone who has helped us along the way. 💙
