Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock announced that applications for the Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program will now be accepted through 11:59 p.m. CT on March 31.

Today we begin again.

At this morning’s mass, we were reminded that Lent is "an adventure of love".
An adventure requires courage. It invites sacrifice. It calls us forward.

On this Ash Wednesday, we step into 40 days of prayer, fasting, and generosity — not out of obligation, but out of love. Love that refines us. Love that transforms us. Love that leads us closer to Christ.
May this Lenten journey shape our hearts, our homes, and our schools.

Let the adventure begin. ✝️

En la Misa de esta mañana, se nos recordó que la Cuaresma es “una aventura de amor”.
Toda aventura requiere valentía. Invita al sacrificio. Nos impulsa hacia adelante.

Hope for the Future - San Antonio Catholic Schools is a long-standing tuition assistance program that continues to support families pursuing a Catholic education. As TEFA is implemented, Hope for the Future is intentionally focused on assisting families who are not selected for TEFA funding.
Applications for Hope for the Future are open and remain an important resource. For these reasons, all eligible families are encouraged to apply.

Wondering how TEFA selections work?
Here’s the simple version:

TEFA applications are reviewed by state- established priority groups.

If applications exceed available funding within a group, a state-run lottery is
used. Families not selected right away may be placed on a waitlist.

If awarded families do not complete enrollment by the required deadline, those funds may be offered to the next eligible family.

Even waitlisted or prorated awards can provide meaningful support — which is why families are encouraged to apply.
