What a very special reunion of our Shirane Foundation Scholars from 2023, 2024, 2025, and the 2026 Japan trip, together with our special guests from Tokyo, Japan, Mr. and Mrs. Watanabe!

We are so happy to see that all of our scholars are doing so well. It is truly precious to see how much you have grown and to be able to reconnect and share these special moments together.

We have successfully completed our 7th Scholarship Trip to Japan since the Shirane Foundation was established in 2016. I am especially grateful to have been part of my fourth trip with the foundation.

Thanks to the kindness and generous support of so many individuals and organizations across Japan, our group of high school students from Bexar County enjoyed an incredible 18-day journey filled with learning, cultural exchange, and unforgettable experiences.

Throughout the trip, we visited Tokyo, Aichi, Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima,
Fukuoka, Kumamoto, and Kagoshima, where students also experienced a homestay through World Campus International (WCI).

I hope each student will carry these experiences with them, continue to build on what they learned, and use them to inspire their future. Thank you to everyone who helped make this life-changing journey possible.

Stay tuned for our 2027 Japan Scholarship Program!
More information, including application details and program updates, will be available on our website soon. Be sure to check back for the latest announcements.
We look forward to welcoming our next group of scholars!

2027 Shirane Foundation Japan Scholarship Program
