June 19th, 1865, also known as Juneteenth, is significant in Texas as the day the emancipation proclamation decision reached our state.
We celebrate this day in honor of remembering the emancipation of African Americans who had been enslaved in the United States.

Congrats to Emily Ibarra, who earned a Master of Science in Business this spring! As a grad student, Emily was involved in student organizations, including the Professional Businesswomen’s Society and the Latin Dance Society. She also gained professional insights and experience volunteering with UTSA Athletics, which has influenced her decision to pursue a business career in the sports industry. She credits UT San Antonio and the Alvarez College of Business with preparing her for success through networking and career development events. 👩🎓

Congratulations to Andrea Albarran for graduating this spring with a Master of Architecture! For nearly three years, Andrea worked as a graduate associate for The Graduate School, supporting department operations and the G.R.A.D. Space. Beyond her work and studies, she was also actively involved on campus as an officer for Women in Architecture at UT San Antonio. We’re proud to celebrate her accomplishments and can’t wait to see what’s next! 👏

Commencement is here! Congratulations to Jasmine Rendon, who is graduating with a Master of Science in clinical mental health counseling!
During her time at UT San Antonio, Jasmine was involved as a recruitment advisor for Gamma Phi Beta and chapter development chair for Sigma Alpha Chi of Chi Sigma Iota, an international counseling honor society, while completing a counseling internship with Communities In Schools San Antonio.
Following graduation, Jasmine plans to continue working in the mental health field and pursuing licensure as an LPC Associate. She has a special interest in continuing to support youth through school-based mental health services and counseling.
“Through coursework and internship experiences, I developed the confidence, clinical skills and resilience needed to transition into the counseling field,” Jasmine reflected. “Embrace opportunities, lean on your support systems and trust your growth throughout your graduate studies.” ✨
