Ms. Cobbs brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and heart to our Serna family. 💙 Before joining Serna, she served as Assistant Principal at Montgomery Elementary for the past three years. Her journey in North East ISD began as a teacher at East Terrell Hills Elementary School, where she taught Pre-K, 3rd, and 4th grades before serving as an instructional coach for nine years, supporting both students and staff.

🌟Ms. Cobbs is a committed leader, a dedicated educator, and a strong advocate for student success. We are excited for the experience, passion, and professionalism she brings to our campus and can’t wait for our students, staff, and families to get to know her.

During a Special Board Meeting on Monday, May 18, the North East ISD Board of Trustees named Interim Superintendent Anthony Jarrett as the Lone Finalist for Superintendent.

“He has maintained a strong commitment to student success, academic excellence and community partnerships,” said Board President David Beyer. “We are confident that his leadership, experience, and vision will help guide our District forward, toward continued growth and opportunity for all staff students and families.”

Jarrett brings more than 25 years of experience in public education including six years with NEISD. He previously served as the District’s Chief Instructional Officer before being named Interim Superintendent in December of last year. Prior to joining North East ISD in 2019, Jarrett served as a teacher, principal and assistant superintendent in Northside ISD.

Following the announcement, Jarrett shared his gratitude to the board and enthusiasm for this next chapter.

“Sitting in this role is a humbling experience,” said Jarrett. “The mindset of service first and self second is something that I fundamentally believe in. I think working alongside you guys, I know our District will continue to grow, get better and be one of the best districts in the country.”

Per state mandate, NEISD trustees must wait at least 21 days before officially voting to appoint Jarrett as our District’s newest Superintendent.

📚✨ Letter Hunters in Action! ✨📚

Our kindergarten classes had a blast in the library this month! After reading a favorite ABC book together, we turned into letter detectives and went on an exciting hunt to find letters all around the library. 🔍

From book spines to posters to signs, our little learners spotted letters everywhere! You should have seen their faces light up each time they discovered a new one.

Fairy tales took over our library last week! Our 2nd graders joined a lively Fairy Tale Battle, answering questions about both well‑known tales and silly fractured versions. Their joy and teamwork made the whole room sparkle. North East Independent School District - NEISD NEISD Library Services
