Congratulations to our two outstanding partners, John and Martha Blackwell with John's Kids and Jenna Elizondo with San Antonio Human Society! Thank you for your continued support for our students at Glenoaks Elementary.

3rd, 4th and 5th graders partipated in a STAAR Party Wellness Day in preparation for their assessment. They wrote notes of gratitude and affirmations, created bracelets, paper fortune tellers, and worry jars, practiced yoga and painted on Buddha boards or colored to release any test anxiety and focus on being positive. Many thanks to our counselors and CIS staff for arranging this engaging activity for our students. The lessons they learned can be applied to maintaining a positive growth mindset and attaining future life goals.

Our Kindergarten and 1st graders learned about being a buddy and not a bully. Author, Claudia Villarreal, read "The Bully Who Learned to Love" and then Buddy came to visit! All students took the pledge to be a buddy.

Congratulations to Glenoaks Educator of The Year, Reading Specialist, Linda Denness-Arvizu and First Year Educator of the Year, PK Teacher, Ariel Aguilar! Thank you for your dedication to our students at Glenoaks.

Thank you to all Veterans who have served and continue to serve our country. Thank you to all who participated in our program in order to make it a success for our honored guests. A special thanks to Holmes HS Choir and ROTC!

PK students had fun with letters in the library! Thank you, Glenoaks Librarian, Linda Moore for creating our newest PK initiative.

The family of former Principal Dorothy Sweet stopped by to visit the library! It was a pleasure meeting Ben and Emily (granddaughter) Giles with Ruthie Sweet and Justin (grandson) and Jessica Richardson with Nolan, Eleanor, and Corrine Dorothy.
