This past Saturday, The Southside FFA officer team attended the Area VII FFA Convention this past Saturday to elect the ‘26-27 Area Officer team and receive some of their Area awards. next year is going to be a big one!

Congratulations to Noah Silva for an incredible job at Rodeo Austin this week! Not only did he place 10th with his commercial doe on Wednesday, he also placed 8th with his market wether today! What an incredible achievement for this guy!

This past Saturday the Southside FFA Nursery Landscape team placed 10th as a team at the Houston Rodeo! Santiago Avila made it into the Top 20 High Individuals and was followed by Alfredo Herrera, Mia Montelongo and Nikko Garcia, respectively. Good work!

Southside FFA is hittin’ the road! Back from Houston Livestock Show Friday night and right back to Houston at 4 AM.

Last night, Southside FFA members had the opportunity to serve as Ushers at the San Antonio Rodeo evening event. This is a great chance for our members to engage with the community and we are thankful for being able to be a part of it. Let’s Rodeo!

Congratulations to Leandra West who was the first person to catch a calf in her calf scramble heat. She won money that she will put towards her breeding project next year. She will also scramble again in the finals where she will have a chance to earn even more money for her project. Way to go Leandra and congratulations on a job well done.

Southside FFA members had the opportunity to do some agricultural outreach with local elementary children by serving as tour guides at the San Antonio Stockshow and Rodeo! These students were happy to be a part of the School Tours tradition!

Macie Goff placed 2nd in the Open Breeding Hampshire class and advanced to the Grand Championship Drive! Congratulations to Macie for her continued success with her lamb projects!

Our Southside FFA members participated in the San Antonio Livestock Exposition Commercial Sheep and Goat Show.
Noah Silva continued his successful show season by placing 6th in an extremely large and competitive doe class. What an accomplishment!
Macie Goff and Sam Ornelas showed on the commercial ewe lamb side and Leila Puente showed her doe kid, as well. Great work!

Today, Southside FFA members, Samantha Clark (Senior) and Emily Pesina (Freshman), both competed at the San Antonio Livestock Show Ag Public Speaking contest. These young ladies are both officers and are to be applauded for their efforts! Way to go ladies!
